用來表示「兩者之間」同一特質的比較：
1、A ＋ be 動詞／連綴動詞 ＋ 形容詞比較級（＋ than ＋ B），如：
This house is more expensive than that apartment.（這間房子比那間公寓貴。）
2、A ＋一般動詞＋（a ／ an）＋ 形容詞比較級 ＋ N（than ＋ B），如：
My brother has more comic books than I do.（我弟弟擁有比我更多的漫畫書。）
兩個音節以內的規則變化：
1、原級＋ er，如：few → fewer。
2、字尾 e ＋ r，如：simple → simpler。
3、字尾為「子音＋ y」，去 y ＋ ier，如：easy → easier。
4、字尾「單母音＋單子音」，重複字尾＋ er，如：big → bigger。
三個音節以上的規則變化：
more ＋原級，如：difficult → more difficult。
不規則變化：
good ／ well → better（好的）、bad → worse（壞的）、many ／ much → more（多的）、little → less（少的）。
