用來附和前句，表「也是」（肯定）／「也不是」（否定）。
肯定附和句：
1、be 動詞：
S ＋ be 動詞＋ ..., and S ＋ be 動詞, too. = S ＋ be 動詞＋ ..., and so ＋ be 動詞＋ S.
如：I’m a junior high school student, and my brother is, too. = I’m a junior high school student, and so is my brother. （我是國中生，而我哥哥也是。）
2、一般動詞：
S ＋ V ／ V-(e)s ／ V-ed..., and S ＋ do ／ does ／ did, too. = S ＋ V ／ V-(e)s ／ V-ed..., and so ＋ do ／ does ／ did ＋ S.
如： Amy plays the piano very well, and her brother does, too. = Amy plays the piano very well, and so does her brother. （Amy 鋼琴彈得很好，她弟弟也是。）
3、完成式：
S ＋ have ／ has ／ had ＋ p.p...., and S ＋ have ／ has ／ had, too. = S ＋ have ／ has ／ had ＋ p.p...., and so ＋ have ／ has ／ had ＋ S.
如： Alex has been to Canada, and I have, too. = Alex has been to Canada, and so have I.（Alex 去過加拿大，而我也是。）
4、助動詞：
S ＋助動詞＋原形動詞..., and S ＋助動詞, too. = S ＋助動詞＋原形動詞..., and so ＋助動詞＋ S.
如：I will visit the museum again, and my friends will, too. = I will visit the museum again, and so will my friends. （我將再次參觀這座博物館，而我的朋友們也是。）
否定附和句：
1、be 動詞：
S ＋ be 動詞 not ＋ ..., and S ＋ be 動詞 n’t, either.
= S ＋ be 動詞 not ＋ ..., and neither ＋ be 動詞＋ S. 如：
I’m not tall, and my brother isn’t, either.
= I’m not tall, and neither is my brother.
（我不高，而我哥哥也是。）
2、一般動詞：
S ＋ don’t ／ doesn’t ／ didn’t ＋原形動詞..., and S ＋ don’t ／ doesn’t ／ didn’t, either.
= S ＋ don’t ／ doesn’t ／ didn’t ＋原形動詞..., and neither ＋ do ／ does ／ did ＋ S. 如：
I don’t take the school bus to school, and my brother doesn’t, either.
= I don’t take the school bus to school, and neither does my brother.
（我不搭校車上學，而我弟弟也沒搭。）
3、完成式：
S ＋ haven’t ／ hasn’t ／ hadn’t ＋ p.p.... , and S ＋ haven’t ／ hasn’t ／ hadn’t, either.
= S ＋ haven’t ／ hasn’t ／ hadn’t ＋ p.p.... , and neither ＋ have ／ has ／ had ＋ S. 如：
Peter hasn’t been to the Disneyland in Hong Kong, and I haven’t, either.
= Peter hasn’t been to the Disneyland in Hong Kong, and neither have I.
（Peter 沒去過香港迪士尼樂園，而我也沒去過。）
4、助動詞：
S ＋助動詞 not ＋原形動詞..., and S ＋助動詞 n’t, either.
= S ＋助動詞 not ＋原形動詞... , and neither ＋助動詞＋ S. 如：
Sean won’t be able to finish his work in two hours, and Amy won’t, either.
= Sean won’t be able to finish his work in two hours, and neither will Amy.
（Sean 將無法在兩小時內完成他的工作，而 Amy 也是。）
