可分：
1、寫法：及物動詞＋介副詞，如：cut off 切斷； put down 放下；put on 穿上。
2、受詞位置：
(1) 及物動詞＋介副詞＋受詞（N）。
(2) 及物動詞＋受詞（N ／ pron.）＋介副詞。受詞為代名詞時只能放在中間。
3、例句：
(1) Please write your name down.
= Please write down your name.（請寫下你的大名。）
(2) Jason, the music is too loud. Turn it down.（Jason，音樂太大聲了，把它關小聲。）
不可分：
1、寫法：不及物動詞＋介系詞，如：run into 撞上；偶然遇見、care about 關心；在乎。
2、受詞位置：不及物動詞＋介系詞＋受詞。
* 受詞不論是代名詞或名詞均放介系詞後面。
3、例句：
(1) I haven’t heard from Richard since he moved to America. （自從 Richard 搬到美國後，我就一直沒有他的消息。）
(2) Janet knows how to take care of herself. Don’t worry about her so much.（Janet 知道怎麼照顧自己。別這麼擔心她。）
